My name is Kaitlyn, and I am an aspiring Network Engineer. I am majoring in Networking Engineering and Security at Western Governors University. I transferred to this program at the beginning of 2025 from Southern New Hampshire University, where I was majoring in Computer Science. I enjoyed my time in this program but wanted to set myself apart from the crowd and focus on networks. During my time at SNHU, I maintained a 4.0 while working full time, and was invited to join the National Society of Leadership and Success.
Currently, I work full time in an R&D lab as a Developmental Chemist at a well known semiconductor company. I have been with this company for almost 6 years, and in this time I have been promoted twice. I have a proven track record of success in dynamic, fast paced environments that require both self-reliance and dedicated team work. I have leadership experience and have always worked to extract the best possible results from all challenging situations. I have worked with, repaired and troubleshot many different types of analytical instrumentation, which allowed me to develop a logical, well-organized thought process.
I have two previous degrees from UMass Amherst: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and Psychology. I discovered my passion for tech later in life, and I am all in: full time work, part time school, and accomplishing many other personal goals and learnings in the process.
